(*1957), is a professor of Science of Design at Musashino Art University in Tokyo. He was a designer of »Kieler Woche 1996« in Germany. He has been researching and developing polyhedron structures with super lightweight such as domes and spheres by the theory of Synergetics. He has designed the lighting system of the illumination event at Tokyo Dome City for these years. One of the Illumination Domes got the Good Design Award 2005 in Japan. In 2008 his design works »Gazebo Dome« and »Luminous Robot« were exhibited at Hannover Messe in Germany. Now he is researching the possibility of Bamboo materials as the sustainable natural carbon fiber and designing new shelter models at Institute Technology of Bandung in Indonesia as a visiting professor.

(*1957) è professore dal 2002 dell’indirizzo Science of Design presso l‘università Musashino Art University a Tokyo. È stato invitato nel ruolo di professore ospite alle università Fachhochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd e Hochschule Bremen in Germania. Nel 1985 ha fondato la propria agenzia di design Takaaki Bando Design, Inc., nella quale svolge soprattutto progetti per Justsystem, Tokushima Modern Art Museum e Origin Co./Estic Co. Ha progettato inoltre gli European Airport Billboards per il gruppo YKK e ha realizzato il Super Lightweight Single Dome con 6 risp. 8,30 m di diametro. Nel 2006 ha ideato l’illuminazione per Venus Fort a Tokyo.

Gastprofessuren zuvor an der Fachhochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd und der Hochschule Bremen in Deutschland. 1985 gründete er seine Design Agentur Takaaki Bando Design, Inc., wo er unter anderem Projekte für Justsystem, Tokushima Modern Art Museum oder Origin Co./Estic Co. Er gestaltete die European Airport Billboards für die YKK Group und entwickelte den Super Lightweight Single Dome mit 6 bzw. 8,30 m Durchmesser. 2006 entwarf er die Beleuchtung für Venus Fort in Tokyo.
